SoftSky Technologies ("SoftSky", "we", "us", or "our") built Cloak to help you discreetly hide and manage iOS apps using Apple’s Screen Time framework. This Privacy Policy describes how Cloak handles data when you use the app.
Cloak does not create user accounts or collect personal identifiers. The app only accesses the data it needs to provide hiding and automation features:
Information accessed by Cloak stays on-device and is used solely to power app hiding, Safe Zones, Decoy Mode, and authentication. We do not sell or rent any information, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Cloak needs Screen Time authorization to hide or reveal apps. The first launch prompts you to grant this permission through Apple’s dialog. Cloak cannot see your Screen Time reports; it only receives authorization tokens that allow it to request changes for the apps you select.
Safe Zones are optional. When enabled, Cloak reads your current location in the background solely to check whether you are inside any active zone and to toggle the linked app folders. Location details are stored locally on the device, and the feature can be disabled or removed at any time. You can revoke Cloak’s access in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
Both the real and decoy passcodes are encrypted and saved in the iOS Keychain. Cloak never transmits or exports these passcodes. Face ID / Touch ID status is stored locally; biometrics themselves remain entirely under Apple’s control. If you forget a passcode, we cannot recover it for you.
Cloak offers optional subscriptions. Apple processes every purchase; we receive anonymized receipts so we can confirm your entitlement. We may share minimal consumption data with Apple when you request a refund, consistent with App Store policy.
To keep subscriptions secure, Cloak relies on trusted infrastructure partners:
Each provider receives only the minimal data necessary to perform its function, and all transfers use encrypted connections.
Because Cloak operates entirely on-device, removing the app or deleting your Safe Zones immediately deletes the associated data. Subscription receipts are retained for as long as required to comply with marketplace, tax, and refund obligations. You may request deletion of purchase records by contacting us using the email below.
We follow platform security best practices, including Apple’s Screen Time entitlements, Keychain storage for secrets, App Attest/App Check to defend against tampering, and TLS encryption for all network traffic.
Cloak is designed for adults who control their own Screen Time settings. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used Cloak without permission, please contact us so we can assist.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the app or via our website before the new policy takes effect.
